NEW FAIRGROUNDS INFORMATION
The new Fairgrounds are located at 2700 West Teapot Dome (Ave 128) in Porterville, next to the Southwest corner of the Municipal Airport. The site encompasses 25 acres, 15 of which are permanent grounds and 10 acres of shared use with the City of Porterville.
There are currently six buildings under construction, including;
- 60,000 square foot covered livestock barn/arena
- 7,500 square foot Livestock Offices and Small Animal Exhibit building
- 7,500 square foot covered exhibit area
- 14,000 square foot Indoor Exhibit building and meeting space
- 5,000 square foot covered Concessions building
- 1,800 square foot Public Restroom and Storage building
Construction began in June of 2010 and is scheduled for completion by January of 2011. The new buildings and grounds will replace the existing facilities located at 300 E. Olive to make way for the new South County Justice Center with a new $100 million dollar Courthouse and related facilities serving Southeastern Tulare County.
